Welcome to South Side Street Cars of Grand Rapids Michigan

Welcome to our website! This is were we spend some time mainly talking to one another about whatever it is suits us at the time. We are a group of car lovers that live in the Greater Grand Rapids area. We have a few members from out of state as well. If you would like to get connected to a group of fun, mostly laid back, car loving people, please take the time to REGISTER, and check out what we have to offer. Feel free to start a new post, contribute to an existing one, or just lurk around for a bit.

Most of us have known each other for a long time so don't be scared away by some of the conversations. [lol] We all know what we mean for the most part and it is meant in fun most of the time. I mean we are car people so the occasional bench racing and so on does occur. ;D

Gayle uses E85 in her '14 Journey with the 3.6VVT. It has had gasoline in it only a few times.  I never checked the gas mileage. Next time I'm in her car, I'll check.

this tank is almost 100% city.

Gonna be surprised if I break 13mpg this tank. But hell it still runs really good so I'm not complaining.  Didn't buy the car for the mileage.

I installed a new radiator cooling fan in our '99 Sebring pervertible. Kind of a bitch to get at. Everyone wanted $125 or more for one. Pete's Auto Parts, in Jenison, came through with a new one for $71.55 out the door.

Rear S60 is completely done and installed. Car is going into slot#1 very soon to get this car wrapped up finally. Still a lot for Jimmer to do yet, will he have it done before the 2 year mark?? That's the big question  8)

After installing another alternator (THANKS to AutoMasters for covering it!) in the '92 Plymouth on Friday, we drove it to Shelbyville and back. Everything was great until Saturday when I hit the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. Glad it was in the garage yet. Blew out a brake line. Jacked it up to look. It's going to need all the lines replaced. After examining all the rust, I am thinking its time to let it go. It has been maintained well, but the axles have never been replaced so the next thing could be the CV joints.

For sure.  I sold it, new, when I sold cars at Highland, to Gayle's Sister and Bro-in-Law. They had it for years, then sold it to Gayle's Mom.  When she passed, we bought it in 2001 from her estate. It's been a great car. It has only 188,000 smiles on it. I did check the axles yesterday and they were rock solid. I parked it in the back barn. I'd be tempted to put lines on it if I had access to a hoist. Or if I get mine put together.
